PRESS: Ministry hopes for 30 bln rbl from associated gas tax

MOSCOW, Oct 14 (PRIME) -- The Finance Ministry is trying to find ways to offset 60 billion rubles of budget’s lost income after tax incentives to Russian oil companies Rosneft and Gazprom Neft for development of the Priobskoye deposit, and may get 30 billion rubles from introduction of the mineral extraction tax (MET) for oil-associated gas, Kommersant business daily reported on Monday.

“The Finance Ministry is considering options to secure budget income against the consequences of tax incentives to the Priobskoye oilfield,” he daily said.

Rosneft and Gazprom Neft asked to grant them incentives of 46 billion rubles and 13.5 billion rubles for development of the field, respectively.

Kommersant’s sources said that the ministry wants to tie the size of the incentives to oil prices within the U.S. $45–65 range.
